Wolf Range Door Hinge
The door hinges are the two arms that carry a Wolf range's oven door as it lowers and hold it closed against the seal. Most of each hinge is hidden inside the door itself; only the arm shows, where it meets the oven frame with the door down.

Not the hinge at all. A rack or rack guide put back slightly wrong after cleaning stops the door from closing, and it is the first thing we check when a door will not shut.
- Sometimes
A door that has been off and went back on unevenly. On all-gas ranges Wolf supplies a hinge pin for taking the door off and warns that removing it without one can cause damage.

A range standing out of level, which Wolf lists alongside the racks and the hinge path when a door will not line up.

A worn or bent hinge, heard as a grind or felt as roughness as the door moves. Because the hinges sit inside the door, looking at one means taking the door off.
What it means for the repair
A door that no longer meets the frame evenly lets heat out, and Wolf ties escaping heat to three things: the racks, the gasket and the door’s alignment. We rule out the racks and the level first. When a hinge has to be replaced, the door comes off, the new hinge goes in, and the door is set so the seal meets the frame all the way round before the oven is heated with it closed.
A little warmth on the outside of the door during a long cook is normal. A door or handle too hot to touch is not.
Before you call
Take the racks and rack guides out and close the door. Do not lean on an open door or rest anything heavy on it. If the door has been taken off at some point, say so when you ring: on an all-gas range the hinge pin that came in a small white envelope with the installation guide matters, and so does whether it was used.

Many Wolf ranges in Market stand in houses older than they are, on floors that are not always perfectly flat. A heavy range a touch out of level can hold its door askew, which is why a level goes on the range here before anyone touches a hinge.

My Wolf oven door will not close all the way. Is a hinge broken?
Usually not. Start with the racks and rack guides: lift them out and try the door again, since a guide seated slightly wrong holds it open. Then look for anything caught along the hinge path. If the door still stands proud of the frame, call Wolf Repair Kirkland on (425) 699-2400.
Can I adjust the oven door myself?
Leave that one to a technician. A door set slightly wrong can look closed while the gasket fails to seal, and the oven then cooks less well. Taking out the racks and checking that the range stands level are safe; setting the hinges is work for the visit.
