Wolf Gas Range Fault States and Display Codes
A Wolf gas range says very little on a screen. What it does instead is behave: every burner clicks, one never catches, the flame lifts off the ports, the oven light flashes and the burner stays dark. Each of those behaviours is listed here as a state — what is normal, what is a fault, and which parts sit behind it.
Dual fuel ranges with an electronic oven control can show a code as well; those have their own entry. Anything involving a smell of gas starts with leaving the room, not with this page. On the cooktop
Clicks, flames and smells at the burners.
- Every burner sparks at once By design on some older R and RT ranges; on a sealed-burner Wolf, a sign to trace.
- Sparking with the knobs off Every knob at Off and the electrodes still fire — a knob, the power or the outlet.
- No spark on any burner Every knob turned and not one click — start with the power, then the module.
- Spark at every burner, no gas Every burner clicks and none catches — the gas reaching the range, not the igniters.
- Flame lifting or burning yellow Yellow or lifting flames — the room air and a dirty burner come before any part.
- Flame drops out on simmer Low flame going out — cap seat, ports and hood draught first, then the valve.
- Gas smell with the knobs off Gas smell with the knobs off: leave, call from outside, and only then call us.
In the oven and on the display
Ignition, lock-outs, codes and fans.
- Oven igniter clicks, no flame Clicks, a pause, more clicks, then a slow-flashing light: the all-gas oven's own safety routine.
- Codes on a dual fuel display A number or short word on the oven display: the control reporting which of its checks has failed.
- After a power cut No power means no spark: what still works, what has to wait, and why a light may flash afterwards.
- Cooling fan runs on The fan still humming after the oven is off keeps parts from overheating, and it decides when to stop.
